In 2020, NRC implemented a 15kW solar system in Togther region, Burco district, Somaliland, aimed at irrigation and supplying drinking water to drought-affected communities. 

In 2020, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) initiated a project to address the water scarcity issues in Togther region, Burco district, Somaliland. This project involved the installation of a 15kW solar power system, intended for both irrigation purposes and supplying drinking water to communities affected by drought. By harnessing solar energy, the project aimed to provide sustainable solutions to alleviate the water crisis, supporting agricultural activities and improving access to clean drinking water for the local population.
