In 2023, Save The Children implemented an 11kW solar power system at the Arabsiya Water Agency in Maroodi Jeex Region, Arabsiya District, Somaliland, to enhance water access.

Save The Children initiated a crucial project in 2023 aimed at improving water access in the Arabsiya District of Somaliland. The project focused on enhancing the operations of the Arabsiya Water Agency, which plays a vital role in providing clean and reliable water to the local communities.

Recognizing the persistent issue of water scarcity in the region, Save The Children took proactive measures to address this challenge and improve water access for the local population.

To effectively tackle the water supply challenges, Save The Children opted for a sustainable approach by integrating solar power into the Arabsiya Water Agency’s infrastructure. An 11 kW solar power system was installed to utilize the abundant solar energy available in the region.
