CEFA Farming

In 2020, CEFA, an international NGO focused on agricultural development, collaborated with Solargen Technologies to implement a solar project in Jowhar District, located in the Middle Shabeele region of Somalia. The project aimed to enhance agricultural productivity and improve livelihoods in the farming community.
The project involved the installation of a 15kW solar system, specifically designed to meet the energy needs of agricultural activities in the region. Solargen Technologies, a reputable solar solutions provider, was responsible for the installation and commissioning of the solar infrastructure.
By harnessing solar energy, the project aimed to provide reliable electricity for irrigation, crop processing, and other essential farming tasks, thereby improving agricultural productivity and income generation opportunities for farmers in the Middle Shabelle region. Additionally, the solar system contributed to reducing dependence on fossil fuels and mitigating environmental impacts associated with traditional energy sources.
Through this initiative, CEFA demonstrated its commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and empowering farming communities in Somalia. The project’s impact extended beyond energy provision, as it facilitated socio-economic development, food security, and resilience building in the Middle Shabelle region.
