Community and Agriculture
In 2020, Zamzam Foundation collaborated with Solargen Technologies to implement a solar project in Buulo-Burde district, situated in the Hiiraan region of Somalia. The project aimed to address the energy needs of both the local community and agricultural activities in the area.
The project involved the installation of a 19.5 kW solar system, designed to provide electricity for community facilities and support agricultural operations in Buulo-Burde district. Solargen Technologies, a reputable solar solutions provider, was responsible for the installation and commissioning of the solar infrastructure.
By harnessing solar energy, the project aimed to improve access to reliable electricity, particularly in rural areas where access to the grid may be limited. Additionally, the solar system supported agricultural activities, including irrigation and other essential farming processes, contributing to increased productivity and food security in the region.
Through this initiative, Zamzam Foundation demonstrated its commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment in Somalia. The project’s impact extended beyond providing electricity, as it facilitated economic growth, enhanced livelihoods, and promoted environmental sustainability in Buulo-Burde district and the broader Hiiraan region.
