Fish Processing Center
In 2020, ARC, a humanitarian organization, collaborated with Solargen Technologies to implement a solar project in Baargaal District, located in the Bari Region of Somalia. The project aimed to improve operations at the Fish Processing Center in the area.
The project involved the installation of a 62kW solar system customized to meet the energy needs of the Fish Processing Center. Solargen Technologies, a trusted provider of solar solutions, was responsible for the installation and commissioning of the solar infrastructure.
By harnessing solar energy, the project aimed to ensure a reliable power supply for fish processing operations, including refrigeration, ice-making, and other essential tasks. The solar system provided clean and sustainable electricity, reducing reliance on diesel generators and mitigating environmental impacts associated with traditional energy sources.
Through this initiative, ARC demonstrated its commitment to supporting livelihoods and promoting economic development in Somalia. The project’s impact extended beyond energy provision, as it contributed to enhancing productivity, income generation opportunities, and food security in the Bari Region, ultimately benefiting local communities and the fishing industry.
