In 2022, Nis Foundation collaborated with Solargen Technologies to address lighting needs in New Hargeisa Village, located in the Gacan-libaax district of Hargeisa City, Somaliland. The project involved the installation of a lighting system comprising 60 poles, each equipped with 150W solar panels.

Solargen Technologies, renowned for its expertise in solar solutions, oversaw the installation and setup of the lighting system. By utilizing solar energy, the project aimed to provide sustainable and reliable lighting for the village, enhancing safety and quality of life for residents.

The solar-powered lighting system illuminated streets, pathways, and communal areas within New Hargeisa Village, promoting community well-being and facilitating nighttime activities. Additionally, the use of solar energy reduced dependency on traditional grid electricity, contributing to environmental sustainability and resilience.
