In the quest to bring electricity to rural areas, Solargen champions the use of economically viable solar-powered mini-grids. As standalone systems, these mini-grids serve as the cornerstone for integrated development solutions and complement a range of humanitarian interventions.
Over the last 4 years, Solargen has demonstrated its commitment and expertise in designing and deploying community solar mini-grids, particularly in the Eastern African region, with a focus on Somalia and Somaliland.

Solargen has cultivated both capacity and experience in the realm of solar mini-grids. Over the past 4 years, we have honed our skills in designing and deploying community solar mini-grids, establishing ourselves as a trusted player in the field.
Geographic Footprint:
Our impact is tangible, with the deployment of 8 solar mini-grids in the Eastern African region. Of these, 5 are in Kenya and 3 in Somalia, strategically placed in conflict and underserved areas. These mini-grids, ranging from 3kW to 100kW in size,
collectively provide electricity to approximately 1600 households, fostering positive change in the region.

Solargen offers end-to-end services encompassing Development, Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), and Operations & Maintenance. Our holistic approach ensures that every aspect of the project, from conceptualization to sustainability, is handled with precision and care.
